I have a secret!

Updated: Nov 27, 2023

I have a secret.

Um ... two of them, actually.

  1. I like Strategic Planning (Stop, was that a teenage eye-roll?)

  2. I’m really looking forward to our 7th Annual Strategic Planning Day on Wednesday, January 10, from 10am – 2:30 pm at the Prince George Golf and Curling Club.

My apologies for the click-bait in the title but, it's true, I do like Strategic Planning and I am looking forward to January 10th. It’s not only a productive day but it’s a great networking event that's tailored for you - the visionaries who drive our regional small businesses and non-profits - and., if you register by December 1st, it's only $ 199 for two seats!

Why did we move Strategic Planning Day to January?

Well, I could blather on and say that "we’ve done so in the spirit of new beginnings and fresh perspectives" and that "we believe that the start of the year sets the tone for what lies ahead" but the truth is we listened to you. We had a number of people point out the obvious - December is already a very busy month for everyone. Between family events, holiday get togethers, juggling staff schedules and a laundry list of pre-Christmas to-dos, few people are top of there game in December. So we moved the event from December to January! As it turns out, the day worked well for our sponsors too. All of them - Canada Western Bank, DMC Accounting, David Mothus, Team Powerhouse, Sasuchan are all on board again this year!

Why you should join us on January 10th?

If your eyes glaze over at the mere thought of Strategic Planning, hold on. We make it fun! Every year. Dave Fuller and I try to mix the day up a bit so that it’s not the same old, same old! By the end of the day, you'll have the bones of a good plan that you can take to your extended team and move forward. A well-crafted Strategic Plan will help you throughout the year and we’ll show you why your Strategic Plan should be dog-eared and filled with margin notes by the end of the year!

The Importance of Strategic Planning for Small Organizations

Running your small business or leading a non-profit comes with its own set of challenges. Your resources are limited, your budgets are tight, and because your wear too many hats, there's little room for strategic thinking. This is why our one day event is a game changer.

Alignment of Vision and Mission:

Strategic planning provides a dedicated space to revisit and refine your organization's vision and mission. It gives you the opportunity to have every member of your team on the same page, working towards common goals and reminds everyone of purpose.

Resource Optimization

With limited resources, every decision counts. Strategic planning can help you identify areas where resources can be optimized, whether it's budget allocation, manpower, or time.

Adaptability to Change

Think of all the change you’ve endured over the last three years. You’ve already learned a lot about adapting but we’re not just talking about reacting. With a good plan, you can anticipate potential challenges, identify opportunities, and create flexible strategies that can be adjusted as needed. You can adapt without the stress.

Enhanced Decision-Making

Informed decisions are the cornerstone of success. Strategic planning equips you with the insights and data needed to make decisions that align with your long-term objectives.

Stakeholder Engagement

Engaging your team and stakeholders in the planning process fosters a sense of ownership and commitment. It turns your strategic plan into a shared vision that everyone is motivated to achieve.
